A history of firm attachment to the land<\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”2\/3″ offset=”vc_col-lg-4 vc_col-md-offset-0 vc_col-md-5 vc_col-sm-offset-2 vc_col-xs-offset-1 vc_col-xs-10″][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeInRight”]Like its name suggests, the roots of Petraia are strongly tied to the stones of Adrara San Martino, an area in the province of Bergamo that between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century embraced a terrace system in order to make the steep slopes fit for cultivation.<\/p>\n

Our hands are our main tools<\/h3>\n

After clearing the area from the woods to give it back to the terraces and the vineyards, the face of Petraia finally started showing itself. Here, from the top of the walls and along narrow strips of land, every step of working the soil and growing the vines is performed by hand, climbing on narrow stone perrons.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeInRight”]The soil<\/strong> <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The characteristics of the land reflect our production: small, but generous.
\nUnder a layer of bare ground, between paths and tunnels, hides some soil rich in clay, minerals and water. Our Merlot and Petit Verdot vineyards are the flagship of the estate, as they are the cultivars that mostly enhance the qualities of the land. How an unconventional spirit is born<\/h3>\n

On the sunny hill slopes, life is shaped by the scent of the earth and the hard work, whereas in the dark cellar the pace is slower, and the key is care and patience. Our wines mature in barriques and stainless steel barrels, where they develop their unique taste, colors and fragrances.
